Editorial Independence
The whole point of Does It Work?™ is to separate the facts from the marketing and fake reviews. It’s absolutely vital that readers can trust our content to be unbiased and accurate.
We aim to cut through all the wild claims you find in the health and beauty industries, and present you with a clear and simple assessment of whether a product is likely to work based on actual, trialled and documented evidence.
We are a team of experienced analysts, researchers, and marketing professionals. We know spin when we see it, and so we created this platform to investigate the claims being made by the manufacturers of these products and answer the fundamental question – “Does It Work?”
We have an unwavering commitment to finding the facts. This mostly involves sifting through the many claims (no matter how ludicrous) and then verifying against actual, documented scientific trials and studies.
We aim to be fair, balanced, and impartial. If it’s been proven to work in human studies, we’ll say so with a big green tick. If the only documented trials have been on some poor undeserving rats – we’ll also say.
You will see there is advertising on doesitwork.info. It’s how we keep the lights on. However – we uphold a strict policy of editorial independence and integrity:
- We do not accept any editorial direction or influence from external parties.
- The ads on our site are independent of our content. Advertisers and sponsors, whether current or potential, do not influence the work we produce in any way.
- We simply don’t allow advertisers from our content categories due to the obvious conflict in messaging. Specifically:
- Dietary supplements
- Beauty products
(Collectively – pills, tonics, lotions & health potions)
- We receive no payment or other compensation for reviews of products or services.
